【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesaprocedureforidentificationofthosefinishedtextilefloorcoveringmaterialsthatcanberatedasflame-resistantunderspecificcontrolledlaboratoryconditions.Thistestmethoddoesnotspecifytheuseofanunderlaymaterial.Ifanunderlaymaterialisusedtoassesstheeffectofaspecificunderlayincombinationwithaspecificfloorcovering,suchavariationinproceduremustbenotedinthereport.Inthistest,resultsareobservedwiththespecimensinahorizontalplane.Differentresultsarepossibleifthesamematerialistestedorusedinanyotherplane.TestMethodD2859fortestingfinishedtextilefloorcoveringmaterialsforflammabilityisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentssincethemethodhasbeenusedextensivelyinthetradeforacceptancetesting.Incasesofdisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinvaluesreportedbythepurchaserandthesellerwhenusingthismethodforacceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoryofthepurchaserandthelaboratoryofthesellershallbedeterminedwitheachcomparisonbeingbasedontestingspecimensrandomlydrawnfromonesampleofmaterialofthetypebeingevaluated.ThetestproceduresofthisstandardarepartofthestandardsforthesurfaceflammabilityofcarpetsandrugsoftheU.S.ConsumerProductSafetyCommission4.Theacceptancecriterionofthesestandardsrequiresthatatleastsevenoutofeightindividualspecimensofagivencarpetorrughavepassedthetest,thatis,thecharredportionofatestedspecimenshallnotextendtowithin25.4mm[1.0in.]oftheedgeoftheholeintheflatteningframeatanypoint.1.1Thisfire-test-responsestandarddescribesatestmethodforthedeterminationoftheflammabilityoffinishedtextilefloorcoveringmaterialswhenexposedtoanignitionsourceundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoalltypesoftextilefloorcoverings,regardlessofthemethodoffabricationorwhethertheyaremadefromnaturalorman-madefibers.Itispossibletoapplythistestmethodtounfinishedmaterial;however,theresultsofsuchatestshallnotbeconsideredasatisfactoryevaluationofatextilefloorcoveringmaterialforultimateconsumeruse.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions1.5Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests1.6Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
